Hallie Todd was born January 7, 1962 in Los
Angeles, CA to actress Ann Morgan Guilbert and the late writer/producer George
Eckstein.
Her first credit was in the primetime soap
opera Family in 1980. She had a small role in Fast Times at Ridgemont
High (which only airs in the TV viewings; the role does not appear on the
DVD). She is a two-time CableACE nominee for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for
her role as Penny Waters on the HBO series Brothers.
She had a recurring role on Murder, She
Wrote as Rhoda Markowitz, and had notable guest starring appearances on
Growing Pains, as a homeless teenager in Season Two's Christmas episode
"The Kid," and The Golden Girls as Blanche's niece Lucy in the episode
"Nice and Easy." She guest starred on Star Trek: The Next Generation as Lal, Data's daughter.
She is most familiar to audiences for her
role as Jo McGuire on Disney Channel's hit series Lizzie McGuire,
starring Hilary Duff.
Currently Hallie Todd teaches acting
classes and does private coaching for kids and teens through her company
Hallie Todd Studios.
Classes are held in Los Angeles, CA, Spokane, WA and around the country. She
is the author of two books,
Being Young Actors and
Parenting The Young
Actor.
She has also recently served as executive producer,
writer and star of the
film The Mooring, directed by
her husband Glenn Withrow.
The film is scheduled to be released in 2010.
